Nick's Visit to DC

Nick and I

A few weeks back I got word from Gareth that his old roomie Nick was in DC for a few days, and that it would be a good opportunity for us to meet up. I'd hung out with Nick before on a few of my many visits to Charleston. We'd always had a good time together, and since I hadn't seen him in over 2 years this was a perfect chance to catch up.

Nick, Shana and I

We arranged to meet near Chinatown on my way back from work. Shana made the trip too, as she'd heard a lot about Nick, but never had the chance to meet him until now. A good time was had by all, and there were plenty of laughs and reminiscing....even a few at Gareth's expense!

Baseball in the Cold - Nationals vs. Braves

Me and George Washington

I managed to snag some free tickets through work to see the Washington Nationals baseball team play the Atlanta Braves at RFK Stadium. The Nats are having a tough season, as they are trying to re-build the team for next season's move to a new state-of-the-art stadium.

Nats vs. Braves

Despite the unusually cold weather for this time of year, the team put on a decent show for the freezing home fans. They must have known it was Shana and I's first time watching the Nationals at home! The highlight of the evening was a meeting with George Washington; one of the Nat's many team mascots. No wonder the guy was so smart...look at the size of his head....and you thought mine was big!!

Trip to Harrisburg for Tyson's Birthday

Harrisburg by the river

Shana and I headed up to Harrisburg for the weekend to visit her family; and most importantly to see Tyson for his 29th Birthday...o boy, you better enjoy his year Tys...all down hill after that! So I've heard!

View of City Island

Tyson, Evan, Shana and I had tickets for the Harrisburg Senators baseball game on the Saturday evening. We walked from Evan's house, along the Susquehanna River, and over the bridge to City Island, where the Senator's stadium is located.

Senators game

I had my camera with me, and was able to snap some pretty tight pics along the way. The game was fun, especially the part when the Senators got to first base!
