The Fo
I'd been looking forward to getting some time off over the 4th of July holiday, and of course I'd been anticipating this year's trip to St. Mary's PA, for the famous ‘Fo’ camp reunion. Each year Shana's mum's side of the family meet up to go camping in the woods together. Every year the ‘Fo’ seems to grow in numbers due to the likes of myself! I had a blast playing volleyball, toasting marshmallows, playing guitar, eating mountain pies, watching fireworks, and of course being in the great outdoors!

Tyson and Jill Visit DC
The weekend after the 'Fo' we got a visit from Tyson and Jill. They arrived early on Saturday afternoon with a furious appetite in their bellies! Fortunately we knew precisely how to satisfy their hunger....Chipotle Mexican Grill.
After we had each consumed our own weight in burrito, we waddled our way to the metro to catch a train to Adams Morgan for a visit to DC Zoo. Our favourite animal at the zoo had to be the hippo, who is a real entertainer. He's sort of like the Elton John of the zoo world!
On Saturday night we dined at the 'GatorAlley' restaurant in Bethesda, before making our way to 'The Barking Dog' to lay down some moves on the dance floor. We had brunch at 'Parkers' on Sunday to top a great weekend off right.

Quintin Comes to the Capital
Shana and I have been looking for a way to get Quintin down to DC before the end of the Nationals season. I had an extra ticket to the game and Quintin was finally off school for the summer...so he ended up staying for a couple of days.

Waitin' for the World to Change
A summer wouldn't be a summer without one thing...an open-air concert. I've always wanted to see John Mayer perform live as I've been a huge fan of his for some time. What made it even better were the two friends he brought along to open the act; James Morrison and Ben Folds!
The gig kicked off at 7pm but we planned to arrive at Hershey Park around lunchtime to enjoy a full afternoon of 'tail-gating'. My friends Jay and Julie from Alvernia College were able to join us for the party, and a good time was had by all.
