Bethany Beach
My week at Bethany Beach was great....the number one reason for that is pretty obvious (scroll down this page if you haven't heard the news yet!). The weather was extremely hot and humid, so a lot of my time outside was spent either in the pool or lying under the shade trying to keep cool.
Despite the high temperatures we still managed to get a few games of tennis in during the morning time. During the afternoon we split out time between the beach and the pool. The evenings were spent walking along the shore, taking strolls on the boardwalk, eating some fine homemade cuisine, and making the most of my last holiday of the summer :-(

Big News - We're Engaged!
Last week Shana and I were on holiday at Bethany Beach, Delaware, and I finally built up the courage to 'pop' the big question! I had managed to keep the proposal a complete surprise from her, which added to the excitement once I got down on one knee! A few weeks ago I stopped in at King's Jewellers on my way home from Alexandria. I picked the ring out, and even managed to get the size just right.
Now that I had the ring, and the perfect beach setting, the only hurdle left to jump....was gaining her dad's permission. That in itself was no easy task...as Bob is a hard man to pin down. I couldn't seem to get him on his own, so drastic measures were needed. I managed to catch him completely off-guard, bare-chested, and on his way into the shower after a sweaty game of tennis. Nevertheless he was pleased to offer his blessing!
I asked Shana to cycle to the shore with me just in time for sunset. We walked along the beach, stopping at one of the many jetties along the Bethany shoreline. It felt like the perfect moment to reach into my pocket for the ring, drop down on my knee, and ask her to spend the rest of her life with me. She said yes...and now we get to plan a wedding, eek!
