Easter at the Beach
Two years ago when I was still a young scholar at Alvernia College, Shana invited me to come along to her family gathering at the beach in Ocean City, New Jersey. I can remember being nervous about spending a weekend with her family, as I knew I was going to have to make a good impression! Fortunately I fitted in just fine and even managed to crack a few jokes along the way!
This time around I was less concerned about charming the socks off Wanda, and more worried about how I was going to get to the beach for Easter. It was the end of my first week of work with Redmon Group, and so I wasn't going to take Thursday and Friday off to travel with Shana.
After work on Friday I quickly made my way to Union Station metro stop, and walked a few blocks to the Greyhound bus station in North-East DC. This isn't exactly the safest part of the Nation's capital, and this was reaffirmed by the Guardian Angel I passed on the way there.
I arrived safe and sound late on Friday night, and even got a chance to see beautiful Atlantic City on the way! The next morning began with a hearty cooked breakfast and a long walk along the beach. This was followed by a mission to hunt down Tiger Woods 07, as Tyson had brought his Nintendo Wii with him. This provided a few solid hours of entertainment amongst the guys.
It was great to be at the beach again, and it reminded me of 'The Strand' beach in Portstewart. I really enjoyed the Easter festivities, including the easter egg hunt and Sunday dinner.

Drum roll please...
I'm very excited to announce that I have joined Redmon Group Inc, as a trainee designer. My first day with Redmon was Monday April 2nd, so I have a couple of weeks under my belt already. This is a great opportunity for me to join a very talented and experienced design team. Redmon's portfolio is as diverse, as it is creative, and I'm looking forward to learning new skills, and contributing my existing ones to the group.
Redmon's offices are located in the Old Town area of Alexandria, Virginia, right next to the marina. My commute to the office each morning begins in Bethesda, Maryland, travels through D.C. (District of Columbia), and ends in Alexandria, Virginia! They don't call it the Tri-State area for nothing.
